This position as a GL accountant is based in the finance department of the HQ in Amsterdam. They are really in the business to save the planet. Your role will contribute to this mission by supporting the Financial Planning team for Europe.

Functieomschrijving

The accounting team consists of 5FTE including 3 junior accountants. They are seeking someone who is able to cover the month-end close. This is going to be the main focus in this role. The company can be best described as international, informal, professional and really takes their core values in everything they do regarding work processes. The environment and sustainability are the largest topics in their cultural and business setting.Key Accountabilities as GL Accountant: ? Preparing and reconciling journal entries for all GL accounts with supporting documentation? Supporting the accounting team with day-to-day operations? Performing monthly balance sheet review & reconciliation? Assisting with the preparation of variance analysis of both balance sheet and P&L? Performing month end accounting closing activities? Performing the monthly fixed asset accounting in accordance with accounting policies, including the preparation of fixed asset category schedules and internal policies? Identifying and implementing relevant controls and develop policy documentation for sharing across the team and organization? Adhering to accounting principles and internal procedures? Supporting with internal and external audits? Assisting various departments and US head office in accounting issues and queries? Performing monthly credit card & cash reconciliations? Assisting in the preparation of payments, booking bank transactions and performing bank reconciliations? Filing, scanning, storing, and retrieving of all related financial documents in accordance with local rules, regulations and company policies? Other tasks: Ad hoc administrative duties to be performed as and when required, including cover for other members of finance

Profiel

In order to tackle this position, the GL Accountant they need will bring: ? University or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required? Minimum of 2 years? (GL) Accounting experience? In possession of, or willing to study for, a relevant accounting degree like ACCA? Accountability & Full ownership over work? Excellent attention to detail is required and strong organization skills to ensure a streamlined and efficient process? Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Excel is a must, PowerBi would be considered as a plus? Ability to work under tight schedules.? Broad understanding of business needs with excellent analytical and communication skills? Accurate and organized? Fluent in English, second European language would be considered as a plus
