De vacature
ORTEC is looking to hire a Senior Lead Optimization Consultant for our consulting department in Belgium.As Lead Optimization Consultant you are a key player to advise our customers based on mathematical decision and optimization modelling. You will work as the lead consultant towards our customer to translate business requirements into modelling solutions. In your role as a Lead Optimization Consultant you will make the design of the preferred solutions to hand over to our team of developers and be responsible for the follow-up until delivery.At the start, you will work dedicated for one of our key customers, in the chemical industry located in the broader Leuven region. This allows you to rapidly gain all relevant business and technical information. After an introduction period of some months, we expect you to become autonomously and organize the roles and team up to your convenience. This also includes the opportunity to either add additional roles such as Project Manager, AIMMS developer, etc. for that same customer or combine the Lead Consultant role for several customers.
Functie eisen
- An ambitious professional with a Master in (Applied) Mathematics, Operations Research, Informatics or equal.
- You like to apply optimization techniques on real business cases and opportunities to improve them. You are an expert in translating business improvement opportunities into mathematical modelling.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in areas such as mathematical modeling, operations research and programming
- You have experience in working as an external supplier, preferable within the chemical industry.
- Previous expertise in AIMMS or other optimization software, either at a more conceptual level or as a developer, is a clear plus for this job.
- Someone who takes ownership of projects and feels responsible for reaching the overall goal of the project.
- You have experience in coaching colleagues.
- Highly focused and results oriented, able to identify goals, set priorities and resolve issues at an early stage.
- Strong communicator, sociable and motivated by business relevance, contact and team interaction. Able to align people and processes to reach a common goal.
- Curious, flexible and able to quickly come to the essence of a problem or a situation.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written. Able to fluently communicate in Dutch and English. French is a plus.
- Ability to work in a team, and at the location of the client. Regular travel to the ORTEC HQ (Zoetermeer) is required, especially during introduction.
